FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: exhaust apparatus for extracting strands of elementary filaments in a steam environment under pressure contains many exhaust ducts (1) and associated supporting structures (3, 4, 6) located next to each other, on the same level, on the supporting frame. Each exhaust duct (1) is formed from two opposite metal semi-ducts (1b, 1t), which delimit exhaust chamber (2). Exhaust chamber (2) has a generally rectangular section of small height, and it can be opened to the outside in accordance with the two transverse edges of exhaust duct (1) constituting the inlet and outlet for the tow. Inside exhaust chambers (2), the harnesses are treated with saturated or superheated steam at high temperature and pressure and at the same time subjected to mechanical stretching operation. Half-ducts (1b, 1t) can expand freely in the length direction inside the surrounding rigid and pressure-resistant supporting structures (3, 4, 6), which precisely determine the positions of the mentioned semi-ducts (1b, 1t) in the direction of their height.
EFFECT: semi-ducts also have the ability to move each other to open and close each (one) exhaust duct (1), independently of the others, to insert the harnesses to be processed using the opening and closing mechanism of the upper semi-duct (1t) relative to the lower semi-duct (1b).
