FIELD: forestry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry, in particular to devices for measuring the humidity of sawn timber from piles in piles when drying in metal wood-drying chambers. Device for measuring the moisture content of sawn timber in a stack in metal wood-drying chambers contains measuring electrode 1, which is a metal structure, and measuring electrode 2, which is a long conductor, made in the form of a metal pipe, the transverse and longitudinal dimensions of which correspond to the geometrical dimensions of the sawn timber, the processing and display unit 3, connecting wires 4 and 5. Measured characteristics can be electrical capacitance, loss tangent, active or reactive resistance. These characteristics depend on humidity, temperature, density and wood species. Processing the data values of the physical characteristics allows you to calculate the average value of the absolute moisture content of lumber in the volume of the entire stack.
EFFECT: this design allows to reduce the time spent on stacking the stack, to increase the accuracy of measurements while reducing the cost and simplifying the design of the device.
