FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of obtaining lithium hydroxide involves the chemical purification of a lithium-containing solution, conducting a bipolar electrodialysis of a lithium-containing solution, from which impurities of bivalent ions are removed, lithium concentration in the lithium-containing solution and conversion thereof to lithium hydroxide. To obtain lithium carbonate, the process of carbonization of a solution containing lithium hydroxide is then carried out.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the cost of obtaining high purity lithium carbonate.
