FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method for the production of lithium hydroxide involves the dissolution of lithium phosphate in hydrochloric acid. This is followed by the preparation of an electrodialyzer with membranes selective to singly charged ions, the supply of lithium phosphate dissolved in acid between the anode separator of the anode chamber and selective to singly charged cations dialysis membrane and between the cathode separator of the cathode chamber and selective to singly charged anions dialysis membrane, respectively and the supply of water between the selective to the singly charged cations dialysis membrane and selective to the single charged anions dialysis membrane. Aqueous solution of lithium chloride and at the same time an aqueous solution of phosphoric acid are obtained by applying an electric current to an electrodialyzer with membranes selective to singly charged ions. Conversion of the obtained aqueous solution of lithium chloride in an aqueous solution of lithium hydroxide is carried out. To obtain lithium carbonate, a solution containing lithium hydroxide is carbonized.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce production costs for obtaining high-purity lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate.
