FIELD: paint industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the paint industry, in the production of building materials, rubber products, plastics, enamels, ceramics. To obtain iron-containing pigments and fillers, the feedstock is subjected to dry magnetic separation and the magnetic fraction is separated. Carry out heat treatment of the obtained fraction at a temperature of from 500 to 1,000 °C. Calcined material after cooling is crushed in a rotary vortex mill and a fraction less than 45 mcm is collected. As a source of raw materials used dust gas cleaning electrometallurgical production.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the technology for producing iron oxide pigments and fillers, to expand their range, to dispose of powdered waste from electrometallurgical production to produce a product with homogeneous fractional and chemical composition, deep color, high opacity, lightfastness.
