FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: initial charge, consisting of waste slag of electric steelmaking furnaces or oxygen converters, spent waste slag of ladle furnace systems, calcium- and carbon-containing components, is loaded into a melting chamber, melted, and iron oxides of slag melt are recovered. Produced clinker and cast iron are separately poured from the chamber. Before loading, the initial charge is homogenized by co-grinding and briquetting. After the charge is melted, an iron-containing material in amount of 2.0-32.0% by weight of the initial charge is additionally introduced into the melt, the clinker obtained after cooling is crushed and subjected to magnetic separation.
EFFECT: invention enables the use of steel industry waste only, without increasing electricity consumption for the decomposition of carbonates, the qualitative recovery of iron oxides in solid phase, and an increase of cast iron output.
