FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture and use of acoustic antenna equipment, namely to the task of protection from snow and icing of parabolic mirrors of antennas in such devices as, for example, acoustic locators (sodars) with antennas based on a parabolic mirror. Essence: in the protection method using electric heating of the antenna mirror, the ambient air temperature is monitored; at minus temperatures, video monitoring of the parabola's working surface condition, according to the marks applied on it, is activated, on the basis of which electric heating is turned on and off. Device additionally contains a triggering and control unit (computer), an air temperature sensor, a video camera with the possibility of night shooting for fixing reference marks on a parabolic antenna and a power electronics unit to control the heating mode.

EFFECT: technical result in the implementation of the claimed solution is to increase the efficiency of the device and increase the time of autonomous operation of the device at low ambient temperatures and precipitation.
