SUBSTANCE: invention relates to steam iron for ironing clothes. Steam iron contains a steam generator, an ironing plate and a thermal bridge device. Steam generator includes a main body and a heating element for heating the main body. Thermal bridge device passes between the main body and thermal connection area of ironing plate to heat ironing plate by transferring heat from the main body. Thermal bridge device comprises a first section extending in the first direction (A) from thermal communication region, and a second section extending in the second direction (B) towards thermal coupling region.

EFFECT: present invention provides steam generation at a high temperature to provide a better chance of steam generation while maintaining a lower ironing plate temperature, which prevents damage to clothes during ironing.
