FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for diagnosing rotor eccentricity in an alternating current electrical machine. Method is based on measurement of capacitance relative to rotor in four points uniformly circumferentially, comparing values of containers at diametrically opposite points based on calculating difference thereof and generation of signal on presence of rotor eccentricity of alternating current electric machine along its one or two axes. Difference in capacity is used to determine rotor eccentricity on its specific axis based on generation of current signal, magnitude of which depends on rotor shift on specific axis, wherein compliance of said current signal with determined value of rotor eccentricity is determined using calibration curve built for corresponding axis at alignment of air gap of AC electric machine, successively measuring this current signal value at rotor shift on vertical and horizontal axes by 10 %, 30 %, 50 %, 70 %, 90 % of air gap nominal value.
EFFECT: technical result is diagnostics of electric machine rotor eccentricity at its any value.
