FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for measuring static eccentricity of electric machine rotor. Method of determining rotor eccentricity in an electrical machine is based on measuring capacitance relative to elements of its structure and generating a signal on the presence of eccentricity. Note here that vessel is measured relative to rotor shaft at four points arranged in pairs on horizontal and vertical axes of its symmetry, comparing each of them with reference vessel and, if difference between measured and reference capacitances exceeds preset value, signal is generated on presence and direction of rotor displacement.

EFFECT: technical result is broader functional capabilities and field of use, as well as high sensitivity.
