FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to the design of an energy-intensive thermal battery, and can be used in the production of thermal chemical current sources. According to the technical solution, blocks of electrochemical elements of the thermal battery are placed in compartments made in a heat-resistant matrix mounted on the lid, having the diameter-height ratio that is as close as possible to one at a given volume, the blocks in the compartments are fixed in the radial direction by heat-insulating gaskets, and in the axial direction - prevailing torque lock springs and combined into a single electrical circuit by means of conductive plates, which are laid in grooves made between the compartments of the matrix, and their involvement is carried out by means of pyrotechnic cords, fixed in the grooves of the matrix along the perimeter of the blocks and connected to the ignition device located at the base of the matrix. Reduced heat loss from electrochemical cell blocks by installing heat-insulating gaskets not only between the battery case and the matrix, but also between the compartment wall and each block, allows you to increase the duration of the thermal battery.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the energy intensity and stability of the thermal battery to external mechanical influences.
