FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: sheet press for embossing comprises a foil application unit configured to transfer or roll foil material on successive sheets, wherein the foil material is fed into the foil application unit in the form of a foil carrier supplied by the foil feeding system, wherein said foil application unit comprises an embossing cylinder with at least one circumferential embossment section made on the circumference of said cylinder and comprising successive embossing segments distributed one after another along the circumference of said cylinder, wherein said cylinder is configured to function also as a sheet transportation cylinder and comprises a group of blocks for holding sheets distributed along the circumference of said cylinder and configured to hold consecutive sheets on the circumference of said cylinder, and a group of counter pressure units distributed over the circumference of said cylinder and configured to press successive sheets and the foil carrier to the outer surface of the embossment segments, wherein foil carrier is supplied from foil supply system between sheets and segments for embossing, wherein each counter-pressure unit is made in the form of a cylindrical unit provided with at least one circumferential hold-down element interacting with the circumferential section for embossing said cylinder. According to the invention, the ratio of the nominal diameter of each circumferential section for embossing said cylinder to the nominal diameter of each circumferential hold-down element of the counter-pressure units is an integer multiple, wherein said cylinder comprises a group of said circumferential embossing sections made on the circumference of said cylinder, said circumferential sections being distributed in the direction along the axis of rotation of said cylinder to form a group of axial positions, wherein each counter-pressure unit is equipped with a group of said circumferential hold-down elements distributed in the direction along the axis of rotation of the cylindrical block to form a group of axial positions corresponding to axial positions of circumferential sections of said cylinder, wherein foil feed system is configured to supply foil carrier in group of axial positions corresponding to axial positions of circular sections for embossment.

EFFECT: possibility of adjusting the distance from each counter-pressure unit to the circumference of said cylinder.
