FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method is intended for automatic two-sided laser welding of neck with thin-walled shell. Neck is made with outer and inner collars. In contact surfaces of shell and necks are washed in gasoline, in ethyl alcohol. Neck is inserted into the shell hole till the collars completely adjoin the shell. Shell and neck are fixed relative to each other in appliance. First, shell and neck are gripped by pairs of diametrically opposite points from outer and inner sides. Then shell and neck are welded from inner and outer side by laser welding. By means of video surveillance system movement of laser beam along perimeter of joints is controlled. Welding parameters are maintained in automatic mode.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of positioning, improved density of assembly, uniform distribution of gaps between connected parts, reduced metal sputtering during welding, reduced degree of embrittlement of welded joints of connected parts, reduced deformation during welding, minimization of foreign inclusions in welded joint, preservation of tightness of welded joint in case of one of seams unsealing.
