FIELD: hand tools.
SUBSTANCE: turning cutter contains holder 1, with which head 2 is rigidly connected, in seat 3 of which by means of screw 5 cutting plate 4 is fixed. Head 2 is coupled with holder 1 by at least two intersecting curvilinear surfaces 6 and 7 (Fig. 1, 2). Both surfaces 6 and 7 increase stiffness of cutting head 2. Curvilinear surface 6 increases stiffness in direction of action of cutting force Py, and curvilinear surface 7 increases stiffness in direction of action of cutting force Pz. At intersection of curvilinear surfaces 6 and 7 stiffness rib 8 is formed, which considerably increases stiffness in the direction of resultant force Pr from forces Pz and Py.
EFFECT: higher vibration resistance and reduced elastic displacement during processing.
