FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: cutter includes housing with cover and movable part with cutting plate, set of elastic elements connecting movable part of cutter with housing and cover with formation of oscillatory circuit, and pair of support elements arranged in front part along direction of supply. Elastic elements are arranged between cutter moving part and housing. In housing there are two seats, in each of which there is separate movable part with cutting plate, one of which is intended for longitudinal movement with longitudinal oscillations, and the second one is intended for transverse movement with transverse oscillations. Each movable part of the cutter is equipped with additional support elements arranged in its lower part. Cutting plate has a mounting hole, a convex curved front surface, a chip exit groove located on the front surface along the perimeter along the cutting edges, with bottom part conjugated on both sides with said convex curved front surface inscribed in dimensions of plate between groove and plane made near mounting hole. Convex front surface on both sides of said groove is described by mathematical relationship y =√x, and axes y of convex front surface on both sides of groove are located at angle relative to axis of said mounting hole.
EFFECT: high quality crushing of chips, increased resistance and durability of cutting plates at heavy turning due to minimum heat exchange between the converging chip and front surface of the plate.
