METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF NIFEDIPINE GEL Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61K31/4422 A61K31/167 A61K47/38 A61K47/69

Abstract RU 2684326 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pharmacology, and discloses a process for the preparation of a nifedipine gel. Method comprises mixing the gelling agent with water purified at a ratio (parts by weight) 1:30–60, until a homogeneous mass is formed, addition of triethanolamine to pH of 5.5–6.5, concurrently the preparation of a solution of nifedipine in polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of 200–300 (PEG) at a ratio (parts by weight) 1.00:150.0–350.0 at a temperature of 25±5 °C, then mixing the above solutions. Proposed method for preparation of nifedipine gel includes two stages, it is fast (not more than one hour), economical, does not involve the use of complex, expensive equipment, it has low labor intensity.

EFFECT: method provides high bioavailability of the slightly soluble in water nifedipine, which allows to reduce the dosage of the active substance and reduce the risk of unwanted effects.
