FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of forming functional coatings for hydrophobization of surfaces with different roughness and geometry for endowing wood, MDF, chipboard, plywood, cardboard, paper, fabric, glass, plastic and metal articles with water-repellent properties. Method comprises pre-creation of a solution of a paraffin-containing component in a supercritical solvent consisting of supercritical or subcritical carbon dioxide and co-solvents, and subsequent application of dissolved component on a processed surface by blowing obtained in reactor supercritical solution on the surface or by treatment of the surface with impregnation obtained after passing supercritical solution through water, alcohol, oil or acetone. Solution is obtained in a displacement reactor with multiple blowing of the solvent through a reactor with a soluble component or a mixing reactor while keeping the solution until phase equilibrium is established.

EFFECT: coating does not change external properties of wood and protects metal from rust and corrosion, which considerably increases service life of the product, reduces prime cost and increases environmental safety in comparison with other hydrophobic coatings.
