SUBSTANCE: methods and apparatus for resetting of an apparatus to a factory new state are disclosed. Some aspects of the disclosure are directed to monitoring the position of user interface element (124, 124A1, 124A2, 124B) of lighting apparatus (120) and resetting the lighting apparatus to a factory new state based on the monitored position. Also, for example, some aspects of the disclosure are directed to monitoring a power signal associated with the lighting apparatus, and resetting the lighting apparatus to a factory new state based on the monitored power signal.

EFFECT: simplified operation of the lighting device.
