FIELD: lighting engineering.

SUBSTANCE: lighting unit (100, 200, 300, 400, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500) based on LED is configured to be installed in lighting fixture (108, 208, 308, 408, 1008, 1108, 1208, 1308, 1408, 1508), to induce the luminaire to react to applied forces and/or movements to control one or more properties of light emitted by the lighting unit. Lighting unit may include one or more LEDs (102), accelerometer (114) and controller (112). Controller can: receive from an accelerometer a signal characterizing the measured mechanical force applied to the luminaire, or movement of the luminaire in which the lighting unit based on the LED is mounted; determining, based on the accelerometer signal, that the measured mechanical force or movement corresponds to one or more specified forces or movements; and drive one or more LEDs to emit light having one or more properties selected based on determination.

EFFECT: technical result is simplification of lighting unit control and operation.
