SUBSTANCE: object of the present invention is transparent sunscreen compositions which contain an α-hydroxy carboxylic acid ester and a solid organic UV filter which is present in a dissolved state, and which essentially do not contain water and ethanol, as well as use thereof as sunscreen, particularly as a gel for protection from the sun or sprayed solution for protection from the sun.

EFFECT: there is no need to use surfactants, and the transparent sunscreen compositions are therefore preferably surfactant-free.
