SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to reducing the number of infectious agents. Device for reducing the number of agents of infection of fluid medium has housing, inlet, outlet, with a fluid contact surface containing biocide, designed to reduce the number of agents of infection of fluid medium. Contact surface is a surface of the stationary mixing element contacting with the fluid medium and contains guanidine or its derivative as a biocide. Also disclosed is a method of reducing the number of agents of infection of fluid medium, as well as use of a device for reducing the number of agents of infection of oil fuel, food products or for disinfecting water.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides effective reduction of the number of infectious agents of a fluid medium without essentially releasing the biocide into the fluid so that the biocide concentration in the treated liquid is less than 50 ppm.
