FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biological fouling of protected surfaces in natural water media. Method of forming a protective coating having anti-fouling effect in an aqueous medium consists in the fact that the coating is based on a polymer or composite material having adhesive properties, into which a biocidal composition is introduced. Obtained composition is applied on the protected surface. Biocidal composition is introduced into polymer or composite material in sorbed form on granules of material having open porosity from 40 to 90 % and possibility of sorption of not less than 10 mg/cm2 in formed contact layer. Biocidal composition used is a solution of a biocide or a mixture of biocides with a critical diffusion rate in an aqueous medium of not more than 5 mcg/cm2 × day. After sorbing the solution of the biocidal composition with the sorbent granules, the latter is heated to a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the biocide to separate the solvent from the sorbed solution to form a solid sorbed phase on the granules with content of 5 to 25 wt%, homogenizing and adding curing agent and viscosity regulator therein. Obtained mixture is applied on the protected surface and cured.
EFFECT: invention enables controlled mass exchange with aqueous media of biocide-containing compositions and improves anti-fouling effect.
