SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustic metrology. Method for estimating a room impulse response between an audio source and an array of microphones comprises several steps. First, signals are received, geometrical sizes of the microphone array are estimated, room impulse response is estimated. Room response is estimated using a basis vector of the type

Here is l(t) is a function of a time-continuous version of audio signal source; Lx denotes the duration of the received calibration signal on each microphone; Ts is sampling interval; T - propagation delay from source to centre of microphone array; m is a function zk and θ, where zk is a separate microphone of the microphone array and θ is the angle of arrival of the received signal.
EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of estimating room response.
