SUBSTANCE: invention relates to distribution technologies, in particular to improved sprayers or foam generators of various types, in which the output pressure and, consequently, the size of the droplets can be controlled, however, sprayers can be efficiently primed to remove air from the pumping system, and in which the outlet valves work optimally with minimal hysteresis. In the method, a device for dispensing a liquid contains a piston chamber, a piston, a nozzle with a defined throughput for dispensing a liquid, an outlet valve; a prime valve for priming the device; a functional element in the piston chamber. Said piston is movable in the piston chamber to compress the dispensed liquid and has an upper seal and a lower seal. Said outlet valve has a defined minimum opening pressure and is arranged between the piston chamber and the nozzle. Said prime valve is mechanically actuated and is arranged on the piston or in the piston. Said functional element in the piston chamber is configured to move the prime valve from the closed position to the open position when said movable piston is at or near the end of its stroke. Said functional element protrudes from the end wall of the piston chamber. Said prime valve contains: a sealing part that is arranged radially from the inside relative to the upper and lower seals of the piston and blocks the hole in the piston, and a drive part that is connected to the sealing part and configured to interact with the functional element. Said outlet valve can be configured to minimize the difference between the pressure of its opening and the pressure of its closing.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to provide the possibility of preventing leakage of both air and liquid in any circumstances.
