FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of pulp and paper production and concerns a paper base and a method of producing a security document with such a base. Durable biodegradable paper base for printing a security document, in particular banknotes, comprises cellulose fibers in an amount greater than or equal to 70 % and less than 100 % by dry weight of the total weight of the paper base in a dry state, additives, auxiliary substance, at least one binder, additionally contains: oleophobic and hydrophobic adhesive based on organic compound containing perfluoropolyester groups in amount of more than 0 % and less than or equal to 5 % on dry weight of total weight of paper base in dry state, at least one biodegradable reinforcing substance, selected from substances of vegetable or animal origin, substances synthesized by biotechnological engineering or genetic engineering and then biotechnological engineering, and substances of biological origin, which are then chemically converted.
EFFECT: invention provides a paper base for making and printing a security document characterized by high durability, id est having high resistance to dirt and mechanical loads, and biodegradability, which provides natural utilization at the end of life cycle.
