REFRACTORY ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF CONNECTING REFRACTORY ELEMENTS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C09J1/02

Abstract RU 2685301 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory adhesive compositions based on inorganic components with water-soluble alkali metal silicates for making refractory annealed chamotte elements of complex configuration, for connection between burnt chamotte elements when installing modular chimney systems and refractory lining of thermal units. Adhesive composition contains a solution or a powdery LST, as a refractory aggregate - pyrogenic kaolinic clay. less than 0.09 mm or chamotte used to vibrate less than 0.05 mm and chamotte filler fr. 0.5–0 mm, and the binder is a solution of liquid silicate glass or silicate powder, with the following ratio of components, wt. %: chamotte filler 65–75; pulvernose of kaolin chamotte 15–25; kaolin 10–15; LST (over 100 %) 0.05–0.18; solution of liquid silicate glass (over 100 %) 25-35 or silicate powder (over 100 %) 10–15; water (over 100 %) 10–25. Method of connecting chamotte elements with complex configuration involves preparation of adhesive composition and application of prepared composition on pre-molded semi-dry method and dried to residual moisture content of not more than 4 % connected surface of chamotte elements with a uniform layer on both surfaces, then elements are connected, their mandrels are made, forming suture with thickness of up to 2 mm, fixed, dried for 24 hours at positive temperature, repeating operation of glue application in proportion to number of elements, then annealed. Method of connection of burnt chamotte elements during installation of modular smoke systems includes preparation of the same adhesive composition and applying the prepared composition to water-bonded surfaces of burnt chamotte elements with a uniform layer on both surfaces, then elements are connected, elements are made to form a suture with thickness of up to 2 mm, fixed and dried for 3 days at positive temperature.

EFFECT: invention increases strength and acid resistance of the seam of connected chamotte elements.
