SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of oil and gas industry and can be used for shutting off the well bore during repair works without killing. Well cutter comprises housing with radial openings and located below radial holes, stepped bushing installed on housing with formation of annular gap between them, communicating with housing cavity through radial holes, a shut-off element, a shut-off element drive including a cutter stock having the possibility of limited reciprocal axial movement, an adapter arranged in the upper part of the housing, inside which an upper seat is fixed with shear screws. Drive is made in form of gas spring, retractable rod of which is connected to cutoff valve rod. In housing below upper seat pusher is installed with possibility of axial movement and interaction by means of below installed bushing with cutter stock.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of cutoff reliability.
