FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to veterinary science and aims at controlling or preventing mastitis in cows. Antimicrobial composition contains glycolic acid; an anionic surfactant selected from a group consisting of alkyl sulphonates, alkyl sulphates and mixtures thereof; a non-ionic surfactant which is an alcohol ethoxylate; and an anionic surfactant which is alpha-olefin sulphonate. Another embodiment relates to a method for controlling or preventing mastitis in cows, which includes contacting cow teats with said antimicrobial composition.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions provides protection against a wide range of microbes without irritating the skin.
