FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electromagnetic lifting device for movement of hot steel workpieces. Lifting device comprises ferromagnetic yoke, lifting coils, non-magnetic baffle and side and upper spacers. Ferromagnetic yoke is formed by a horizontal core and two vertical poles. Lifting coils are wound around said core and placed in container. Nonmagnetic partition is located between said vertical poles below said container to protect container from heat radiated by hot steel workpieces to be moved. Side spacers and upper spacers hold container at distance from poles and core respectively.
EFFECT: safety of device operation is provided.
