FIELD: metallurgy; casting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device for treatment of metal melt using magnetic fields on continuous casting plants. Proposed electromagnetic braking device containing yoke, coil and ferromagnetic core, is installed independently from mould and is made for moving in and out or on mould of continuous casting plant by means of one re-placing device. Such arrangement of electromagnetic braking devices on continuous casting plants eliminates or decreases skewing tendency caused by presence of axial drive along heavy-weight guides requiring large space.
EFFECT: facilitated re-equipment of continuous casting plants.
