FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for nondestructive inspection of metal pipes and can be used for control of their inner diameter. Essence: inside the pipe two pairs of co-axes are placed coaxially at a fixed distance from each other, along the orthogonality of common axes of each pair of transducers. Vortex current converters interacting with the test object are measured. Measured signals are converted into two pairs of values of gaps between the eddy eddy-current transducers and the surface of the controlled object. Values of inner diameter of pipe along axis of each of orthogonal pairs of cavities of eddy-current converters are determined by summation of measured values of gaps between inner surface of pipe and eddy vortex-current converters of each pair, of the distance between the working faces of the impingeable eddy-current converters and the value of the correction, which is a function of the measured values of the gaps between the inner surface of the tube and the orthogonal pair of the valeal eddy-current converters and described by the second-degree polynomial. Finding value of controlled parameter is found as arithmetic average of values of inner diameter of pipe by orthogonal axes.
EFFECT: increased reliability of control of inner diameter of metal pipes.
