FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering, particularly to methods of estimating fatigue damage of structural elements. Method for assessing fatigue damaging metal elements of aircraft structure during flight tests involves measurement of values of voltages and temperatures in flight of strain gauges and temperature sensors located on different elements of structure, processing of results of these measurements by "complete cycles" method and Oding theory with reduction of flight cycles of voltages to zero-value ones σ0i, characterized by maximum values and number of their recurrence Ni. Further, processing results are compared with fatigue test data of structural elements or standard samples for calculation of accumulated during damageability conditions. Strain gages are located near critical points of the structure, but not closer than ten radii of curvature at critical points in the structure. For estimating measured voltages static component of voltages is additionally corrected by value of mounting voltages.
EFFECT: possibility of evaluating damageability in the absence of complete fatigue characteristics.
