FIELD: active protection devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of self-protection of the population, specifically to liquids with irritating action of non-lethal effect on human, used as a thrown mass of special-purpose cartridge, in particular, in aerosol spray can small-size of ASCS and ASCSP used in tubeless shooting devices for metered aerosol spraying of "DMAS" type, or pyromechanical cartridges used in devices "OSA", "Strazhnik". Liquid irritant composition contains at least one irritant, dimethyl sulphoxide and an organic solvent or a mixture of organic solvents. Dimethyl sulphoxide compound contains in a mixture with water, and as an organic solvent contains an oxygen-containing organic solvent with oxygen content of not less than 15 wt% and a boiling point of not less than 180 ^oC, selected from a group of diatomic alcohols (glycols), polyglycols and mono- or diesters thereof, or a triatomic alcohol – glycerine and its mono- and diethers, or a mixture of said solvents in a different combination. Composition according to any of the versions may contain a dye and a thickener.

EFFECT: composition has stable characteristics in the temperature range from -254 °C to +50 °C and throwing range of not less than 3 m, wherein combination of components provides possibility of controlling parameters of mixture on range and irritant effect.
