FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to liquid compositions having a lacrimatory irritant action for non-lethal effect on humans and animals, intended for arming self-defence means, particularly canisters with a continuous action valve. The gel composition contains an irritant, a thickener - synthetic polymer Aristoflex AVC and water. A different version of the gel composition additionally contains an organic solvent. The irritant used is oleoresin capsicum or pelargonic acid morpholide or a mixture thereof. The organic solvent used is ethylene glycol or isopropyl alcohol.
EFFECT: high effectiveness of lacrimatory irritant action of the composition due to improved skin penetration properties and faster manifestation of stopping properties, improved safety of the composition, operational reliability, longevity and shorter duration of the production process.
