FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for out-of-furnace treatment of high-alloy cast iron for working layer of centrifugal rolls with weight of up to 20 tons and more. Invention includes treatment of high-alloy cast iron containing more than 15 % Cr, in teeming ladle, in which it is pre-cleaned from non-metallic inclusions by introducing a compacted reagent consisting of calcium carbide 20–30 %, calcined soda 10–15 %, fluorspar 15–30 % and the rest magnesium ligature in the form of iron-silicon-calcium-magnesium alloy containing 50 % of silicon, 10 % of calcium, 10 % of magnesium, iron - the rest, and further averaging of the above cast iron by forced mixing with gaseous nitrogen.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce content of sulphur in cast iron by 3 times and non-metallic inclusions in 1,45 times, which ensures increase of roll performance by 1,77 times.
