FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves production of steel with silicon fraction of total mass of not more 0.05% with use of comprehensive treatment of metal with aluminum, calcium-containing deoxidizer, alloying materials and slag-forming mixtures in metal tapping into ladle with basic lining. Added to ladle during metal tapping are lumps of calcium-containing deoxidizers in the form of alumocalcium alloying composition with calcium fraction of total mass 15-35% and aluminum, 68-85%. Upon completion of heat tapping with content of aluminum in metal of 0.02-0.05%, added to metal is powder wire with filler from mixture containing granulated calcium in amount of 60-80 wt.% and aluminum powder in amount of 40-20 wt.% so that introduction of calcium during and after metal tapping corresponds to 0.2-0.4 and 0.3-0.6 kg/t of steel, respectively. The method allows to produce low-silicon steel with sulfur content not more 0.005%. EFFECT: higher degree of steel desulfurization. 5 cl, 2 tbl
