FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and is characterized by a synergistic microbicidal composition containing two components: (a) a nonionic surfactant of structure: R1O(CH2CH(CH3)O)5(CH2CH2O)9H, in which R1 denotes C8-alkyl group; and (b) 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, where the weight ratio of said nonionic surfactant to weight of 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one ranges from 1:0.005 to 1:1.3714. Also disclosed is a method of inhibiting growth of microorganisms in an aqueous medium.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides inhibiting growth of microorganisms in an aqueous medium by using compositions having a synergistic microbicidal effect.
