FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of measuring mechanical stress at deformation of solid bodies using measuring instruments for measuring linear compression or expansion, for example, using resistor strain gauges. Essence of the invention is that a sensor for measuring temperature and two strain gauges for measuring mechanical stress are placed together at each measurement point located on a neutral axis of the rail, simultaneously taking readings from temperature and mechanical stress sensors at each measurement point, transmitting a signal on the obtained results to a single data processing system, which automatically calculates temperature stresses, for each measurement point determines the difference between the calculated temperature stresses and mechanical stresses obtained from strain gauges, compares the voltage difference for not less than four adjacent measurement points, wherein if difference of voltages is more or less than zero in two adjacent points of measurement, then it indicates presence of whipstock in the form of curvilinear sideways.
EFFECT: technical result when implementing the claimed invention is the determination of the surplus railway track throw out, at that, proposed method for determination of surges discharge of continuous railway track allows controlling mechanical stresses σm, temperature stresses σt presence of the ejection of the whale is determined from the difference of these values.
