FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machining of materials and can be used for drilling polymer composite materials. Proposed method comprises machining of billet to be locked therein and rotation and axial displacement. Simultaneously with drilling, the workpiece is irradiated with nanosecond electromagnetic pulses. Said drills isolated from metal parts of the machine and a metal ring in contact with the workpiece in the processing zone are used as electrodes for irradiation with pulses. Power of one pulse makes 1 to 2 MW.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and preset accuracy of sizes and shape of treated holes.
