FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. Method comprises titration of a sample of mineral water with an acid titrant (hydrochloric acid solution (HCl)) and measurement of resistance R in a conductometric cell solution with addition of each portion of the titrant; wherein 10–15 cm3 mineral water is introduced into electrochemical cell with two platinum electrodes with strictly fixed distance between them, then two electrodes are lowered into electrochemical cell – glass (measuring) and silver-chloride (auxiliary) and magnet for solution mixing in cell on magnetic mixer; electrochemical cell is connected to pH-meter-millivoltmeter (pH 150) and to desktop portable digital LCR-meter ELC-131D device; buret for titration is filled with a solution of hydrochloric acid (HCl), fixing the resistance R of the analysed solution and the pH of the same solution, the mass concentration of hydrocarbonate ions (mg/dm3) is calculated by formula.
EFFECT: method of determining content of hydrocarbonate ions in mineral waters by conductometric and potentiometric titration.
