FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, particularly, to extraction of rare-earth elements from phosphogypsum. Method for extraction of rare-earth elements from phosphogypsum includes preparation of pulp from ground pre-enriched phosphogypsum at ratio of weight of phosphogypsum to volume of water equal to 1:(1.8–3.0) and sorption of rare-earth elements, which is carried out using gel strong-acid sulphocationite in H+-form at ratio of weight of ionite to weight of phosphogypsum equal to 1:(1–3) at two stages at time of phases contact at stage of 3.5–4.0 hours.
EFFECT: invention provides higher degree of extraction of rare-earth elements at stage of sorption leaching to 85–90 %, reduced consumption of sulfuric acid and ionite, simplified process of processing phosphogypsum with production of concentrate of rare-earth elements and gypsum binder as a whole.
