FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment and can be used in vitreoretinal surgical operations. Surgical instrument comprises a pair of clamping jaws which experience an elastic bias voltage directed towards the open position. Clamping jaws are capable of movement towards each other in a closed position in order to engage with the membrane. Each clamping jaw comprises a rounded gripping tip. Gripping tips comprise a textured surface which can be used to create a capillary effect between the membrane and forceps in order to enhance adhesion there between.
EFFECT: technical result is improved gripping and peeling retinal membrane layers.
