FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical processing of materials, namely, to jet hydroabrasive treatment, and can be used in surface cleaning without damage to the article base. Method of hydroabrasive cleaning of surfaces includes delivery of water under pressure to the processed surface. Supply of water under pressure to treated surface is carried out with addition of abrasive particles to water flow and maintaining ratio of mass flow rate of abrasive to mass flow of water in range of values 0.1–0.35. Water pressure is selected not more than the value determined by formula Pk=(2Vk2ρw)/μ2, where ρw is density of water, kg/m3; μ is jet-forming nozzle flow rate coefficient; Vk is the critical speed of the hydroabrasive jet, at which initiation of crack initiation in the treated material is performed, m/s.

EFFECT: preventing violation of the internal structure of the treated material during hydroabrasive cleaning of contaminants by rational selection of parameters of the hydroabrasive jet, such as its speed, water pressure and abrasive flow rate.
