FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for combined osteosynthesis of fractures of long tubular bones. Method involves intramedullary nail insertion into the marrowy canal, its fixation and osteosynthesis application. Intramedullary osteosynthesis is ensured by using a PLGA-based biodegradable rod made in the form of a tubular structure with a wall-to-diameter ratio of the inner cavity of 1:10–1:5. Intramedullary nail wall is pre-coated with through holes, the diameter of which is 0.1–0.3 cm. If the diameter of holes is 0.1 cm, their number makes 3–5 with the distance between the holes of not less than 0.4 cm, with diameter holes 0.2 cm their number is 2–4 with distance between holes of not less than 0.6 cm, with diameter of holes 0.3 cm their number is 1-2 with distance between holes of not less than 0.7 cm per 1 cm2 surface area of the rod. Bone fragments are fixed on the rod through the above holes with the required number of fixing elements. Bone osteosynthesis is performed with an additional transosseous fixation in the wall of the rod.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in fractures of long tubular bones by using a rod with holes made from biodegradable material.
