FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering and can be used in production of fuel elements of active zones of water-and-water nuclear reactors. Dispersive fuel element of nuclear reactor includes cylindrical shell with end plugs, cross-shaped compensator arranged by means of spacer element inside shell, particles of nuclear fuel with mass fraction of isotope 235U in uranium from 7 to 93 %, made in form of grit of intermetallic compound of uranium of U(Al, Si) type3 and / or in form of uranium dioxide granules. Active part of fuel element consists of two or more profiling zones, differing by values of average linear density on uranium in neighbouring profiling zones, with identical or different lengths, types of nuclear fuel, size of fractions of nuclear fuel particles, values of mass fraction of isotope 235U in uranium, values of cross-section area of compensator.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility to provide fuel elements with increased values of energy release and maximum power production in fuel element, as well as possibility of profiling of linear density on uranium and/or isotope 235U along core length while maintaining integrity and minimum change of fuel element size during operation.
