FIELD: nuclear equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modular nuclear reactor of fast neutrons with liquid metal heat carrier. Reactor comprises housing with cover, core zone located inside it, intermediate circuit heat exchangers, circulation pumps with pressure manifold, CPS system, wherein housing is made with double walls with inner gas cavity, with inserts installed in upper part of housing inner wall by fusions, and external wall of housing is made with finning. There are versions of the reactor core design formed by vertically installed canless fuel assemblies (FA), including heterogeneous canless fuel assemblies, in which fuel elements with MOFC fuel are used and reproducing fuel elements with reproducing material of U-Zr alloy or uranium metal oxide with oxide coating. Reproducing fuel elements are evenly distributed between fuel elements and their amount is in ratio 1 to 2, respectively, and diameter of reproducing fuel elements is more than diameter of fuel elements.

EFFECT: high radiation and fire safety of the reactor in severe accident conditions with loss of core cooling, internal self-protection, possibility of flexible control of the value of core characteristics and operation with a wide range of isotopic composition and types of fuel and reproducing materials.
