Mobile electronic device monitors the battery energy level in the mobile electronic device, determines that the battery energy level has reached a predetermined threshold, and based on the determination, terminates the first launcher currently executing on the mobile electronic device and activates the second launcher on the mobile electronic device. By activating the second launcher that has energy saving features, the energy consumption of the mobile electronic device is reduced and thus the battery life time increases while maintaining the basic functions of the mobile device.

EFFECT: technical result is a reduction in energy consumption.
