FIELD: blasting operations.
SUBSTANCE: detonating cord relates to blasting equipment and can be used in devices in mining and other industries. Detonating cord comprises core, braiding and shell, wherein braiding is made of high-strength polyester multilayer complex threads with linear density of not less than 111 tex. Braiding produced with the use of polyester small-shrink thread, ensures shrinkage of the finished product at high temperatures of not more than 2 percent and improved operational characteristics of cord. Each complex thread contains 195–211 elementary threads and has specific breaking load not lower than 735 mN/tex, which considerably improves mechanical properties, in particular, increases tensile load at functioning under conditions of action of increased temperatures, increased pressures and in aggressive media. Detonating cord has water resistance for 24 hours at depth of 1.0 meters, elasticity at temperature minus 50 °C and plus 50 °C, heat resistance at temperature 190±10 °C, thermopressure resistance at temperature of 150±5 °C and pressure of 100±5 MPa and resistance to aggressive media at temperature of 150±5 °C and pressure of 100±5 MPa.
EFFECT: disclosed is a detonating cord.
