FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering and high-frequency ion engines. Electrode of ion engine comprises holes uniformly distributed over round or rectangular surface with size of 1.2–4.6 mm and webs between them with width of 0.4–2.4 mm and made of CCCM based on laminated structure frame made from high-modulus carbon fibers and coke-pyro-carbon matrix; wherein the carbon fibers (CCCM) are part of the unidirectional tape with thickness of 0.07–0.11 mm and are located in the CCCM part at angle of 60 or 90 degrees to each other for round and square holes, respectively.
EFFECT: increasing service life of accelerating electrode and emission electrode of IOS, as well as increase in their strength and dimensional accuracy, high surface purity and simplification of manufacturing technology.
