FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: print head including an address line for transmitting a set of addresses and several base components, each base component including a plurality of controllable switches associated with the address line, each switch corresponding to at least one address from a set of addresses, each address corresponding to one of several functions of the base component. Buffer receives a sequence of data packets, each data packet including address bits representing one address from the set of addresses. Address logic receives the address bits from the buffer, and for each data packet, the address logic encodes the address represented by the address bits in the address line, and wherein at least one switch corresponding to the address activates the function of the base component corresponding to the address.
EFFECT: disclosed is a printing head using data packets including address data.
